The Emanzini Private Reserve is situated on the Southwestern edge of the Albert Falls dam, approximately 15 minutes drive from Pietermaritzburg and in the heart of the uMngeni Valley. The property started as a game reserve some 12 years ago and has produced a great number of trophy animals.

The reserve is 300 hectares in size and is stocked with a variety of species. Birdlife is also in abundance with fish eagle, oxpeckers and secretary birds being sighted on numerous occasions. The reserve has two dams as well which make for good weekend fishing.

In 2009 the Emanzini Private Reserve was granted permission by the Development Facilitations Act to develop 18 new bush lodges on various sites within the reserve. The sites were placed in such a way as to optimize the bush and wildlife experience as well as the breathtaking views of the Albert Falls dam.

18 new sectional title sites have been approved for this development. The Bush Lodge building footprints range in size from 200 square meters to 350 square meters.

Architectural guidelines have been put in place to ensure that the buildings blend into the surrounding natural environment and have a minimum impact on the wildlife. Owners may design their own units within the guidelines or use the appointed architect for a pre-designed house. Loft areas with living spaces are allowed as well as deck areas for outdoor living. Homeowner’s rules have been put in place to ensure that the peace and tranquility of the uMngeni Valley bushveld is retained and that owners can enjoy interaction with nature.

The sites are fully serviced with an electricity and water supply and internal roads and driveways are hardened for all-weather driving. The security fencing around the property is a combination of game and electric and the main gatehouse will be manned.

Buyers may purchase the sites as sole entities or in syndication and can place their units in a rental pool for additional income.
