What's happening at Mount Verde...

We are thankful for having been blessed with a fine rainy season. The crops are looking fighting fit. Same goes for our sanctuary, where our new giraffe have more than enough to nosh on!
The Pipeline is almost done, but still behind schedule, therefore tarring of the remaining roads has been postponed for obvious reasons.
With all the de-stumping, planting of Kikuyu, post and rail fencing and site leveling going on, how can I not mention that foundations for the first house have been dug! The other most exciting news is that of an Equestrian centre in Mount Verde! The site has been identified and it is final!
Now, I think you’ll agree that if this is only the beginning, there are only a handful of Estates that can tick all of these boxes…

What's happening at Mount Verde...

Autumn is fast approaching noticeable in the vivid hues of red, orange and yellow appearing against the lush green landscape.

Much activity and transformation is taking place on the Estate, from preparations for our Equestrian Centre, newly built homes and residents to new exciting plantations.

Our newly appointed Construction Manager, Jan Keyser has also been busy with the erection of the bottom gate posts and installation of a gate that will be operational shortly.

When driving along the main road through Mount Verde you will notice an exciting plantation of Proteas by one of our Owners.

Sugar cane season is here again as you will have noticed with the burning taking place on the Estate and land preparation is taking place near the Mount Verde offices for the Equestrian Centre.  We are very proud to announce that the Mount Verde Boran, a project headed up by Ivan Voigts is well underway, with the assistance of Craig Oellerman, we will be displaying our Boran at the local show toward the middle of the month of May so keep your eyes peeled for this exquisite breed.

So wrap up, keep warm and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the changing months on Mount Verde…
