Inhlaba Game Lodge is situated in Tugela Private Game Reserve, in the heart of the historic Colenso Boer War Battlefields between Ladysmith and Colenso in KwaZulu-Natal. It is 3 ½ hours’ drive from Johannesburg, 2 ½ hours from Durban and only fifteen minutes’ drive from the N3 highway.
Tugela Private Game Reserve comprises a 6 700 hectare private bushveld game reserve, which is malaria free and has diverse terrain and vegetation, which enables it to hold four of the Big Five and all endemic game species including plains game.
You can enjoy daily game drives guided by expert game rangers, in open 4x4 game viewing vehicles, with sundowners and spectacular views of the Tugela River Valley. White Rhino, Elephant, Buffalo, Leopard, Giraffe, Zebra, Black Wildebeest, Waterbuck, Impala, Grey Duiker, Warthog, Eland, Ostrich, Nyala, Bushbuck, Mountain Reedbuck, Common Reedbuck, Kudu, Red Hartebeest, Bushpig, Eland, Steenbuck, Blesbuck and Crocodile roam freely on this reserve of incredible diversity. With it’s abundance of natural water, Tugela Private Game Reserve attracts several bird species and a range of raptors and vultures.
Inhlaba means Aloe in Zulu and ensures you a comfortable stay in beautiful surroundings. The lodge is unfenced, allowing you to enjoy the freedom of abundant wildlife including White Rhino and Giraffe on your doorstep. It is family friendly with modern facilities and Eskom power.
