Management and staff are constantly available, ensuring there is always a Vision Homes person on hand to advise and assist with anything from design changes to choosing finishes. The financial aspects of the contract are kept up to date continuously and changes to the contract are not implemented without the financial implications having been agreed upon, to eliminate a budget over-run shock on completion. We supply a step-by-step manual to every client for timeous decision and we encourage our clients to take an active role in the building process. This inevitably gives the client a greater sense of ownership and satisfaction with the final product. The strength of the company lies directly in the calibre of its people. Vision Projects (Cape) (Pty) Ltd t/a Vision Homes, is the Cape Town Branch of Vision Homes, a Durban based property development company. Vision Homes specialises in residential property development and individual upmarket house construction. Vision Homes is headed up in the Cape by Graham McAlister who has had more than 35 years experience in the construction industry. He relocated to Cape Town from East London in February 1999 and since then Vision Homes has completed housing contracts, alterations both large and small, and property developments in excess of R50 Million. In addition Vision Homes developed and project managed a 10 storey parking garage and office block in Long Street Cape Town during this period. “ Our goal is to take the hassles out of home building for the client. Vision Homes offers a “one stop” project management approach to building a new home. We take the worry and risk out of building by helping and guiding the new home owner through the design, cost evaluations and final design stages, prior to actual construction. Murray Mackay C.A. (SA), the founder of Vision Homes, has been in the construction industry since 1972 when he joined Stevenson Construction and was financial director of the company until 1983. He then joined Time Holdings, establishing the coastal housing division which grew from 46 homes in 1985 to 800 in 1991. He has been a governor of St Mary’s Girls Schools in Kloof for 25 years and is the chairman of the financial committee. Murray plays golf each week, is an avid rugby watcher and jogs 6km five times a week. Graham McAlister Graham McAlister is responsible for Vision Homes’ Western Cape. He joined Roberts Construction in 1972as a trainee and obtained a National Diploma in Construction Supervision from Technician Natal. When he left in 1984 he joined Thomas Construction as contracts’ manager in East London, responsible for several large projects including office blocks, factories and a hospital. In 1986 he joined Amalgamated Construction to manage a mass housing contract for the East London municipality. On completion of the project he joined Time Housing and was regional director when Vision Homes was created. Graham also plays golf on a weekly basis and recently had a hole in one. Graham is also a keen cyclist and has completed two Cape Argus cycle tours. |
